When I initially got the TerraLux LED upgrades for my Streamlight Stinger and MagCharger, I was really impressed. I just toyed with them a bit and never really used/worked them at length because I am no longer on a night shift. Last weekend, I had to do traffic control/directing after a fireworks display and was using them both for long periods of time. I was rather disappointed to see how drastically they dimmed in a relatively short time after they heated up. The next day, after they cooled, they were super bright again, so I know its not a battery issue. Is this heat dimming characteristic of all LED lights, or just converted lights? I was waiting for the Terralux Strion upgrade, but now I'm thinking I may just buy a factory LED Strion.

I hated that TerraLux/Stinger upgrade the moment I installed it and turned it on. Awful. (However, I sold it to a co-worker and he seems to like it.)

The MagLEDs do that too though they're designed to 'ramp down' on increasing heat levels (to prevent components overheating) I'm not 100% sure about the TerraLux drop ins ;)

the terralux ones do the same thing i think but their heat sinking should be alittle bit better but they push them harder too.
