Terralux TLE-1F battery life?

How is everybody's experience with the TLE-1F? I stuck one in my Solo headlamp to replace the battery-thirsty halogen bulb and noticed a nice increase in useability. And while it doesn't throw as far as the halogen it puts out a much better, more useable beam.

In any case, this is kinda my back-up light, which I carry while biking at night and camping and such. Its doing just fine with alkies, but I was thinking about switching to lithiums since they have a longer shelf life and are more thermally stable. I don't want to switch if it'll kill the batts after just a few hours though, so I can hoping somebody may have a run time plot, or even personal experience with it in a 2AA lamp?

for those who don't know, this is a TLE-1F Lamp assemblyits a new product and I admit I never heard of it before.

only headlamp I know of that uses a luxeon I in a PR base and runs on 2AA would be Princeton Tec's Matrix II, which by review the runtime plot levels at around 6 hours to 50% and 10 hours till the end of the cell's life

This might be a pretty good benchmark to test your headlamp if you are so inclined.
