I have googled and googled! and can find very little information on actual LED powered headlights. I know some super cars like AUDI and a couple others have them, would you need multiple high powered leds? would they be in a projector housing or reflector? And because some of the higher powered leds are "efficient" how would you go about cooling the leds (the high wattage ones get hot)?

On Saturday night, I saw an Audi A7 with the full LED headlights.
Just horrible. WAY too blue, terrible distribution, lackluster output.
I did see the cornering light function, it was pretty bright.

Audi introduced full LED headlights in the R8 a few years back. Toyota/Lexus LS600h with just LED low beam right before Audi. Even Cadillac has in in the top of the line Escalade.
I don't think any necessitate liquid cooling, but most use an internal fan to move LED waste heat to the front lens to melt snow/ice.

The unique distribution of LEDs don't require conventional projector or reflectors.

Technically, a more efficacious light source will put out less heat per watt drawn.

Your questions otherwise show why it is important to not try to build your own headlamps, but instead let such companies as JW Speaker or Truck-Lite make them (or whatever manufacturer Audi chose to make their headlamps).
