Maybe`I`m a bit dense, but isn't the P2D the same as a L2D-CE, only the size of a L1D-CE??

....and why didn`t they offer this light a year ago. Think of all the lights I could have "not ordered", and saved some cash.....

Fenix did think that, and that's why they didn't release it a year ago

I would say "no", as it uses completely different batts.

But as they are switching to other than AAs, maybe my search for a SMALL 18650 light will soon find an end

Argh! I'm in the second batch. You're making the wait even worse! It is good, though, to hear that the light is a good one.

It's a significant bit smaller: L1DCE (9.7cm) vs P2D (8cm). My guess is that this was planned all along (hence the change in thread diameter from the LxT series). Hopefully a factory OP reflector and natural HA will also trickle in. Marketing? Limited resources? Dunno, but it seems to me that Fenix is still on top of the market for $ 50 small lights.

How is the beam focused? Throw or flood? Maybe compare to the P1.
