I have mentioned a couple of time that I am looking for some help with some optics that seem to be very promising, so since I have been asked for some beam shots I thought I might as well post them here. I have grown tired of the holes in beams when the flashlights are focused to flood beams so I am going to fix the problem. I've started with the side emitters and think I am on the right track for the unholy flood beam. This is still in a very rough form but does show promise. The pictures on the top show an EverLed modified on the left is the flood and on the right the spot. The pictures below are of the same flashlight with the same EverLed unmodified and the camera’s light settings and all are the same.
The reason for the modified flood beam being so screwed up is my inability to make the surfaces that I am working with completely smooth. This flood does look a little better in person and will improve with the right tools for the job. Did you notice the light fixture?
