REI was closing out some halogen screw base 3V bulbs intended for Petzl headlamps at 83 cents apiece. I purchased 4 and put one in a French Flasher circa 1916 and one in a USA Lite circa 1925. Both of these were 2D flashlights with walleye lenses so the beam pattern was not that fantastic, but I'm guessing they were probably the brightest they had ever been.
Just did this for short duration so that I would not damage the lights. The walleye lenses are glass and the reflectors are metal.
