What's the smallest rechargeable being made by surefire? I just need something I don't have to worry about draining down by using it daily. Anything smaller than a surefire that you would recommend?
Surefire has their own board. It is quite active and you would get a complete response there. I believe that the 8X series is the smallest, but I could be wrong.
I have the 9N, which isn't made any more. They have switched over to the 9AN. This light might be a little bigger than what you are looking for.
It is hard to go wrong with a Streamlight Stinger.
The SureFire 8NX is hard to beat in terms of bang for buck.
The SureFire RG2 is smaller then the 8NX and offers you either the B65 NiCad or use with 2 DL123A Lithium Batteries. I don't think it's out yet though.
Looking at the SF catalog, I see that the 6p and it's variations d2, g2 z2 and c2 may all be converted to a 'rechargeable configuation using the kr1 or kr2 conversion kits. This does change the length so the converted light is but a little shorter in length than the 8ax series.
If I could call SureFire for Free (I can't from the UK), I'd be on their call barring list for calling them all the time! (if they don't have a list, they'd set it up just for me
"Everyday in everyway, thIngs get a little bit better..."
Thanks for the news.
I am vaguely tempted to convert my G2 to rechargeable with the KT1 when it comes out. I have more important SureFires on my shopping list though:
10X, M3, 8AX-HA & KT5-HA, G2-YL, E1-BK
I have an old 6R and I use it regularly. With the R60 lamp it burns 45 minutes and is pretty bright. I tried the P61 (120 lumen) lamp and it actually burned the lamp out. It seems that only the R60 is made for the rechargable battery.
It's 10 years old and still is in great shape.
