Hi Folks,
Since I've learned and played with the strontium aluminate glow powder I've been paying more attention to products around me to see where it's being used for more than painting flashlights
I purchased a set of Garrity "Glo-lights" at SAMS a couple of weeks ago. 2AA & 2D lights and 4 little red led flashing triangles. I bought it for the flashing triangles as I could tell the lights were, shall we say common in their quality and usefulness. Turns out that the glow substance cast into the plastic is 2nd gen stuff as it continues to glow softly as long as the things I've painted with the poweder I've got. The lights themseleves are mostly useless to me at this point. I need to mod something into them
Got some "Amazing Elastic Plastic" for the kids to play with, it came with a tube of glow. I eagerly charged up a little ball of it, but it aparently uses the old kind. It glows well enough under a black light and charges well from an LED, but dims out very quickly.
So what other "mainstream" products have people noticed using this stuff and to what effect? (don't say glowing
