Thinner 14500 than trustfire protected?

I'm using trustfire protected 14500's in my Akoray k106 (16607) and the protection circuit strap is increasing friction with the battery tube. Eventually it's going to wear through. I know not all 14500's are created equal, and wanted to know if there are any brands of protected 14500's that are slightly smaller.

My Trustfire 14500's fit just fine in the K106.

sparkysko, something you might try. Lay your 14500 down on it's side on a hard surface, and roll it back and forth applying moderate downward pressure. Sometimes the connection strip sticks up just enough to cause the problem you are having, and this flattens it down enough that it'll slip in easier.
