I'm new to learning about knives so I decided to just buy 3 that I liked the looks of along with a little research.

All were Boker Plus. They are the Escalibur II which is a folding knife with a liner lock, Sod Buster which is a yellow handle pocket knife, and a yellow handle lock back knife.

The first one has arrived, seems very well made, as I'm new to all this I have no negatives for this one although I can see that a liner lock is a little harder on the fingers than another style.

The Sod Buster should arrive within the next 2 days and the lock back shortly thereafter.

I'm not a collector and I'm not a frequent knife user so I might be done. ;)

I just got the Boker Cinch Sodbuster today. There is one thing that I don't like about it and I now realize that it was never shown in the closed position in the ads I saw. The Boker Lockback that I have coming will have the same problem I believe.

That is when in the closed position the end of the blade near the pivot point sticks straight up and there is a sharp 90 edge. I don't see how one could carry it in a pocket without shredding the pocket. This is a pocket knife!

Edit: After looking at other knives I see that this is common. Although in this particular case the edges were left very sharp. I filed off/flattened a bit of the edge. I still won't carry it in my pants pocket but at least it's now usable without cutting my fingers.

Hopefully the edge in the Lockback will not be quite so pronounced.

The Boker Lockback (yellow handle) arrived today. Thankfully, the problem with the Sodbuster is not really present with the Lockback. The pivot end of the blade does stick up but it's smooth and only sticks up 1mm or less instead of 4 mm.

Both knives Lcokback and Sodbuster are heavier than the Eskelibur II.

The Eskelibur II is by far my favorite but I do like the retro look of the yellow handle Lockback. I'd like to find a smaller version of that one as well. The Sodbuster will reside in my backpack where is can be useful without snagging anything.
