Where and how to throw away used batteries? (lithium batteries?)

Better be friendly to the environment /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Specifically in socal? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Checking the ever useful Duracell MSDS , "Environmental Effects: These batteries pass the U.S. EPA's Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure and therefore, may be disposed of with normal waste". Their lame punctuation, not mine....

I usually keep them in a container and wait for the Household Hazardous Waste Collection day (in Los Angeles county) or bring them when I go to IKEA.

Overhere almost every shop that sells batteries will take back the used ones as well. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif You can also save them up and wait for the monthly Household Hazardous Waste Collection.
