I am laid up with a busted knee and thought I would post up over here what I have been up to lately. Normally I only post over on MTBR, but have extra free time right now so thought I would post over here.

I call it the darkstar and is a dual MCE light that puts out about 1200 lumens after calculating losses and drive currents.

The wall is about 135 feet away and the trees are about 200.

Hope you like it, and let me know what you think

Sorry for all the drama, not my intent at all content edited

Well, all posting drama aside, putting that much light on a helmet is going to create a bit of drama itself - if you even glance at an oncoming car, you will blind the driver. That much light needs to be focused down and away from traffic just like every car light is suppose to be.

oops! Never mind...you did say TRAIL light...my bad!

There wasn't any drama - just a matter of procedure and policy. It has been sorted out, and the OP's edited post is now OK and can stand.

Yeah, these are definitely not DOT approved. I would not ride on the road with one of these on high, although on a low setting you could get something around 8 hours of runtime with the standard battery pack, and reeeally long if using the stobe mode

Just the bare optic. I haven't had any problems with scratching as they are recessed just slightly. Even whacked a few branches to test it out.

They are glued in with a flexible weather safe glue. They are not removable by customers, but can be changed out when an updated LED is available.

The bubbles are actually the glow powder crystals you and znomit are so famous for :D
