Tiablo A9 on 2 RCR 123s?

I know the A9 runs great on CR123 primaries.I've also used a 18650. A9 runs better on CR123s than the 18650. Is it possible to run it on RCR123s? I've never used 2 RCR cell set up. Has anyone used RCRs in the A9?

Yes, I'm using Tenergy RCR123A 3.0v LiFeP04 batteries, & they appear just as bright as regular CR123a's however they're capacity is stated as 750ma but in practice they are probabaly less.
From what I can see all RCR123A's have a lot less capacity than the primary CR123A's

I require long runtimes with my Tiablo so I've converted it to run off an external battery pack made up of 6 Eneloops fitted with Luxdrive BuckPuck 1000ma driver with a dimmer pot, works brilliantly!! I'll post a picture soon

The A9 works fine on two RCR 123`s the low is not very low run time will be shorter than 18650`s and primarys

Here's the pic of the modified A9, battery & driver/dimmer are external. Run time ranges between 4 to 6 hours depending upon how the dimmer is used. I have also fitted (taped temporarly) a Hoya Y2 camera filter in place of the stock lens, I need to measure the diameter of the hoya glass before I remove the surounding steel ring so I can insert perminently it in place of the stock lens

I run mine on AW RCR123's for max brightness and flat output(but shorter runtime). Here is the power spec for the A9

Step down constant current driver, High efficiency with dual mode DC-DC regulator (PWM / PFM), working voltage is 2.7V to 10V. Replace battery when the light is too dim. Batteries not included.

Thanks for the info. looks like the A9 on RCRs has the regulaton of the primary cells with guilt free lumens of the 18650, albiet a shorter runtime.

the A9 was specifically designed for RCRs. In fact, that's the only difference between the A8 Q5 and the A9 - A8 Q5 takes only 18650 and CR123s, and the A9 takes those two and RCRs, without as good regulation on an 18650.
