Hi

I've modded my Petzl Tikka XP with an SSC P4 according to the useful guides that appear in this forum. Indeed this was a quick and simple job.

However I've recently noticed that even when when the light is in the "off" state, it emits some light. The amount is very small - you need to hold it about 10 cm from a wall in a completely dark room to see it - but it is there. After removing the battery the light is no longer emitted.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? I haven't found any reference to this phenomenon in the forum.

In addition some white sticky powder developped arounf the battry contacts - similar to what you would find around (older) car battry contacts. Perhaps this could help in solving the mystery?

Thanks in advance

It looks that batteries leaked or water somehow gets inside - so you may have some short-circuits on driver board.

Remove batteries and try to wash it carefully using toothbrush or brush in distilled water.
