I have a pair of computer speakers that are just plug and play, no AC adapter required.
Radioshack Optimus water resistant speaker set.
Input: 4 ohms
Max power: 2W
Having very little knowledge of how audio amplifiers work is it possible to create a stereo amplifier that runs on batteries [as low as 3V? I'm thinking of using it to drain half spent cr123as as well] where I can plug my MP3 in on one end and the speakers in the other?
With the current setup I can play classic piano comfortably loud through these speakers when I set my MP3 player's volume at 15/25, but it drains the battery pretty quickly [~4 hours before the meter hits half, basically my limit when it comes to discharging li-ions], I was hoping to create something that will allow me to keep the volume around 5-10/25 while enjoying the same intensity as 15/25 volume. As you can see...I'm not looking for a 10W amplification, just something you would use for your earphones.
Something like this, but not $135
circuit geek's schematic has a layout I was looking for...with the exception of that "10-20V input"
When they say "single channel" does that imply "mono?"
:thanks:
