Just wanted to post a quick update on the TK20's after a few months of use.

I posted here several months back and some of you suggested that I get the TK20 for my wife. I followed the advice and got her two TK20's with the yellow grips.

She's used them every day at work. The yellow grips are permanently smudged from exposure to coal mud. This is typical - coal fines and water creates a mud that can be impossible to remove. Mixing coal fines with water produces a mild hydrochloric acid, which probly helps to burn in the stains.

The anodising has worn off on the high spots.

However, the lenses look like new, which is amazing considering what they've been thru. Every flashlight that's been used hard out here has a frosty, scratched up lens.

We use low self-discharge NiMH's (eneloops and Imedions). When hers run down, she brings them home and I recharge them on a Maha charger. Then she takes the TK20's back to work and beats them up for several days, and we repeat the process.

I put a dab of the lube that 4Sevens recommended on the threads, and they still feel nice and smooth. No grinding or sloppiness.

Maybe I'm just jaded, but it's not often that a purchase exceeds my expectations. I'm really impressed with the TK20's. Fenix has a winner here.

Plus I wanted to say "Thanks" to the good folks at CF who pointed me in the right direction.

Glad to see another fan of the tk20 around, they really are great solid performance lights. You probably won't have to replace either of them for years
