I recently picked up a Surefire L2 body and tailcap. I'm not sure why I bought it. I'm sure no one has said that before on this forum. Anyway, I tried a KL1 head on that body and it did not fit. I then tried a TLS "E" head on it and it fits. I bought the head used so I'm not sure how many volts it can handle so I just pressed the switch on quickly and released. The head lights up.

So, can these parts be used together safely? Does another pill need to be put together for this head with no driver? If my cheap meter was working right, there is over 6 volts going to the head.

What's the word guys? I did search but didn't hit on the answers to these questions.

The L2 body should only be used with a head that a) has no driver, and b) has an LED with a forward voltage greater than the voltage of your batteries (6v, unless you're using a Li-Ion)..

Thanks fot the reply. Are there any LEDs that can handle 6 volts? Or would it be possible to wire up 2 LEDs on a pill to handle that many volts? I have no idea how many amps the L2 driver supplies or if it could power 2 LEDs.
