Whoever ends up winning that will be one very happy guy indeed. Between yours and Lambda's Luxeon mods (I hold both of you in high esteem for your work with the Luxeon Star), everything else just seems so dim now. Flick on an Arc-LS after using one of your lights and I wonder if the Arc got loaded with dead batteries.

Thanks for the compliments.

Heh heh, I got some neat things coming, like a triple 1 W LS flashlight, using 8 AA for 12 volts, about the size of a 2 'D' cell. Of course, there's a 5 watt light rising on the horizon, with several battery configurations, including a voltage regulation option. An economy model, using the new 1 watt Lambertian and 3 'C' cells, similar to the settup of the current blaster. Etc. etc. And some other things I can't talk about now.

As much as I like Wayne's DD Blaster & am looking forward to the DD Double Blaster (Wayne, have you shipped it yet?), it won't fit in my watch pocket like the ARC LS does. I asked Wayne why his is so much brighter & he said he was pushing the limit with the direct drive. But I was running it on rechargables @ 3.6V. Still, I can't get a 2D light in my watch pocket. What can I say....I love them both. TX

Tex,

The ARC-LS and the Blaster are two different animals, and really should not be compared. The ARC LS is small, and is voltage/current regulated, fits in the pocket. It has a very different concept and usage than the big guns I modify. I have purposely shot at a different market, and not modified small flashlights, and don't really have any immediate plans to produce a small flashlight, as there is already the excellent ARC-LS, which seems to be hard to improve upon.
