Trust fire

I agree with Norm. Generally "no."

However, if you devote some time in the Budget Light Forum here on CPF (as well as a competing budget forum), you might find a recommended pearl. It won't have the quality attributes of SolarForce-and-up brands, but it may contain high-value-for-the-money.

I found a pearl: Trustfire TR-3T6. It is now my "nightstand" torch (but am replacing the plastic lens with glass).

As said, remember surefire=good and evrything else fire a 50/50 gamble at best. Some OK lights, but you wont know till you get it,my advice is spend a little more on a good brand light. Will work out cheaper in long run and also if you depend on a light it wont let you down when you need it most.

If its just for round house stuff, nothing life dependent then research the "fire" light before buying.Just dont use their ****fire cells as over rated mah, claim protected when not.....the list goes on.

If you fill in the flashlight recomendation and what cells, what lm etc etc then i am sure you will get some great value recommendations to suit your budget.

As mentioned the solarforce lights are a great starting point, these can be customised to your needs.

I've ordered about 3 AA trustfires on dx and they're still functioning after about 2 years. That said, I wouldn't pay over $15 shipped for one.

I have a few myself, iirc all still work but i would not rely on them life or death for example, but for a round the house or as a spare they can be a great cheap fun light.

Don't know where you got yours but the TR-3T6 comes with a glass lens. Personally I have 0 issues with TrustFire lights. Seeing one of them really shows how much mark up there is on lights in general and how much profit the big names are making from the dudes who will spend the money. I got my TR-3T6 for $20 and am completely blown away by the light. Best $20 I ever spent for a light. IMO damn good lights for the price.

I have many ****Fire lights But not SureFire as they are way too expensive. All my fire lights work, And I would us them if my life deepened on it. ANy I know how to Upgrade the led and driver. They are more brighter than Surefire. Bangs for the buck nothing beats them. There are those who buy surefire and when things go wrong they send it back to surefire and then there are men like me who just fix them.

IMO Trustfire has two very good lights. First is the TR-S700, which I have. This is a HUGE seven XM-L spotlight with handle style light that is continuously variable output from about <2 Lumens to about 3600 Lumens as measured by multiple BLF member light modifiers and testers. It uses a slide switch on the handle to adjust output so that it can be very rapidly changed to the user's preferred level for any use. No strobe or SOS or other extraneous modes. It uses three 26650 batteries in parallel like an overgrown Nitecore TM light and weighs over three pounds with batteries. The only Trustfire light with reasonably correct Lumens output listed by the factory, which claims 3800. Price is in the $120 range from some Chinese Sellers.

The second is the TR-J20. This is again a HUGE 12 XM-L light which is designed to run on three 32650 Batteries though it also includes an adapter tube to allow the use of 26650 batteries and it can even use 18650 batteries with a combination of the 26650 adapter and a set of 26650 to 18650 adapters. Again a 3+ pound light with batteries installed and a hellacious club if needed. It has the most cooling fins I have yet seen on an LED light. Not sure of Lumens as delivered but an outstanding basis for building a genuine 10,000+ Lumens monster light per Richard at Mountain Electronics who has experimented with it. Price from China is circa $100.

Both these lights have integral with the head machined LED mounting tables which are reportedly 1/4" thick for absolutely outstanding LED cooling paths to the light exterior and enough light mass to handle a lot of LED output and heat.

Definitely not pocket lights as both are 3+ pound monster lights but if you need something like these they exist and seem to be very well made lights.
