Trust me, you want one - Pocket Ref

I use a little reference book that Bosch put out every year. About 900 pages of all sorts of information that is hard to find anywhere else.

I always found the range of Tandy books put out some years ago to be very handy too " Mathematics for the electronics student" was a great tittle.

I love mine, does anyone have this in a digital format so i could put this on my phone? That would be cool.

The Pocket Ref is great, but be careful of the Pocket PC Ref. Lots of outdated and sometimes incorrect information in there. I once wrecked a hard drive a long time ago by entering the incorrect number of heads & cylinders in BIOS, based on what was listed in that book for that model of drive.

Some of my friends call this the machinist's bible....

I've been thinking of getting one of these. A customer of mine had a similar small book for just electrician type work. I mean to write down the name of it. Was cheaply made just spiral/comb bound and had a weird name. Anyone heard of this? It was much thinner than the pocketref.

edit - I found the book I was looking for. The link has some other similar books along the same lines as the pocketref.

Are you sure you are not referring to the Machinery's Handbook?

A very useful reference indeed, but not really pocketable or cheap. Also, the Machinery's Handbook is a dedicated machinist's reference, the pocket ref is more of a general reference.

I mentioned Barnes & Noble bricks and mortar stores so that people could view the book before purchasing rather than buying it sight unseen.

Right, it's important for people to know that this is not a rare book that needs to be mail ordered.

Still, my point is that you don't need to see it. If you are the kind of guy that likes to tinker around with flashlights, then you are exactly the kind of guy that would love this book. What is it $12.00? You can't go wrong.
