I recieved my Trustfire TR803 yesterday from dealextreme.com.
The TR803 uses 1 CR123 battery and is rated at 230 lumens from the manufacturer. Judging by the 60 lumen setting on the P3D I'd say that TR803 has only around 40-50 lumens. I believe that is the last time I'll be purchasing a Trustfire product if they overrate their products like that.
for the price of 16 dollars it still puts out a lot of light. But I wish the lumen rating would have been accurate because i wanted a really bright light.
Not sure how to post pictures on here... as i took some to show dealextreme so they'd give me credit on another purchase.

It would be brighter on a RCR123 battery. I think the light is direct drive and the higher voltage will make the light brighter. I'm not sure how much though.

Hi
I've had mine for a week now and can confirm that they are direct drive and there is a big difference in light output between rechargeables and primaries. I'm very happy with mine.

Bad move... some trustfire / DX lights are a good value. You are using the wrong battery (a common noob mistake). Its DD and benefits a great deal from an RCR cell. I wouldn't even consider DD-ing a Q5 with a primary.

I just did a quick ceiling bounce test with my TR803 using a full charged li-ion vs some other lights.

TR803 17lux
Novatac 120P 13lux
Fenix P2D R100 15lux
Nightcore Extreme 22lux
Malkoff M60 31lux

I also tried the 803 with a 3V cell and got 4.

Being a direct drive light every lights output will vary, sometimes a great bit...
