Anyone have any experience with Trustfire LEDs? There was a banner for Gadgettown on this site, and I clicked on it. They have a few higher output lights.

Like this 5W 800 Lumens TrustFire 3 CREE P4 LED Flashlight Torch http://www.gadgettown.com/3-Cree-P4-500-Lumens-LED-Flashlight-Torch.html

5W 900 Lumens TrustFire P7-F15 LED Tactical Flashlight Torch http://www.gadgettown.com/P7F15-900-Lumens-LED-Tactical-Flashlight-Torch.html

And 5W 1500 Lumens Romisen RC-T6 CREE Q4 LED Flashlight http://www.gadgettown.com/RCT6-Cree-Q4-1500-Lumens-LED-Flashlight.html

How do these compare to the name brand/more well known brands?

I don't have experience with those brands but they are the sorts of branding you see on the Dealextreme flashlights, Romisen is generally considered to be one of the better ones. You can look at the reviews and discussions on DX to get an idea of whether people are happy with it but be warned that Dealextreme has a reputation for poor quality control and inconsistent customer support and they ship from Hong Kong.

here's one of the Trustfires, looks pretty tempting:

If you are in the US then Gadgettown may be more reliable but I have not heard of them before.

I don't have personal experience with these brands but it is fair to say that the general opinion is that they are cheaper for a reason.

actually I have ordered a couple of romisens, one from shiningbeam and one from kaidomain but neither has arrived yet. Kaidomain has a similar reputation to dealextreme (extreme budget end, hong kong based) while Shiningbeam is US based and better quality control from what I have heard

Ok. I did find some info on some of the lower end models of Trustfires - and they seem to be great if you know how to "fix" mistakes made in the manufacturing process. SInce I have no idea how to do that, I guess I'll skip them...

bc measured the Q5 version Romisen RC-T6 at a steady ~650 Lumens.
I haven't had any troubles with the Romisens I have owned, although I haven't owned a T6.
