I am trying to build a led flood light for my boat. I want to power it off of either 1-12v deep cycle battery, or 2 in series for 24v. I will eventually be running 4 of these lights, if they work out. Here is what i have in mind. CRE MC-eslr 430 lumen led. calls for 700ma max drive, 12.8vf @350 ma, 13.6vf @ 700 ma. I want to use a buck puck to drive it, if that is the best way, i am thinkin of using the 3021 dn- 700 ma buck puck. is that too big, should i go with a 350 ma model?:D

If youre running it off of the deep-cycle by itself (no other interference from other systems) I'd check out the der wichtel 2.8 amp driver and you could put upto 3 SSC-P7's in series with a 12-14 v supply. You could also drive 3 MC-E's if you put the 4 dies on each one in parallel. So you could go from 6-700 lumens with a single MC-E or P7, upto 2000 with 3 LEDs

You would need good heatsinking for any of these, what did you have in mind for a housing/casing?
