My twintask 3AA Light started acting up today. It went out and I couldn't get it to turn back on.I could unscrew the cap about halfway and it would flicker on and off.Any ideas or would it be best to send it in ?
Thanks.

Clean the threads? Sounds like an Arc AAA carried in the pocket with fluff and crud buildup kind of trouble. My Kroll clickie does that on my Opalec'ed Mini Mag. The red light comes on and if I unscrew the cap and re seat it the red light goes away.

Oxidation on raw aluminum. Icky stuff.

Also check the spring. If loose or crudded over it could act flaky also.

What kind of batteries? I had a set of NIMH cells in the above Mini that dented and became loose. Decided that longterm carry of NIMH was not the sturdiest on the cells. They flickered similar to your description. Weird.

I tried it with the batteries that came with it and also my nimh cells.
Thanks for all the info.
Chris.

It appears to be fixed!!!!!!!!!

Took ya'lls advice and noticed some oxidation on the contact.I cleaned it with A little alcohol and heyyyyyyyy it seems to be working fine.
Give yourselves A raise.hehe.

Re: It appears to be fixed!!!!!!!!!

my new 1L was misbehaving a little (dimming and flickering)when I would adjust the beam--I carefully reseated the bulb which seemed to solve the problem

suspect the reflector may have been putting a little pressure on it because of it being off-kilter
