So my first foray into the higher quality light world was my iTP A1 EOS SS. While I love the light output, I have grown to absolutely hate the idea of a twist light.

Perhaps if it only had one light mode, but it seems too finicky for 3. I skip modes almost every time I use the light, and find myself re-twisting to try to get to the right one again.

I'd like to replace this guy with something that has a button, but hopefully retain the same or brighter output, in a similar compact (keychain-worthy) size.

Please save me! ;)

First of all you can cure the skipped modes issue. After advice from the guys on here.Clean the head and relube, gently stretch the spring in the tube, should cure your problem. There is another fix if that does not cure it but do a search and it will come up for you.As I am not really up to speed on a clicky light using that battery size I leave that to the more informed.

I'll definitely try this first, thank you. :)

Sounds like grass is greener syndrome. The big advantage to twisties is that they won't accidently come on in your pocket. If you replace yours with a 'tactical' switch version, this will likely becomes much more of a problem since you have it as a keychain.
Also, a tactical version usually doesn't fit as well as keychain since the attachment is on the rim of the light instead of the center which messes up the balance.

The skipping modes is a problem which shouldn't happen and is fix-able. Imagine if a clickie was doing the same skipping.. it would be just as irritating and is not a twistie/clickie issue but a skipping issue instead.
Once that is fixed, you should be happier.
