So it's not the light's fault per se, but now that I've used a nautilus for 2 years, I've discovered this...
I keep my light in a little pouch (Bill's Custom Case Wallet) and it has in 2 years drained 3 batteries accidentally. I usually try and make sure that it's loosened sufficiently, but I prefer a short twist for the light to go on... Some how, the head of the light gets pushed down enough to make contact and start the light.

Anyone have this issue?
I'm guessing I'm using a clicky light from now in (carried a P2D for 2 years before and never had a problem with accidental start up)

I'm sure many people have... I've accidentally drained a Lithium AAA in my Fenix E01 when it came on without my knowledge. My sister had the same happen to her Fenix LD01.

But - clickies aren't necessarily safe either - I've had a Quark AA Tac come on accidentally as well! I guess the best would be a light with an auto-off, or both a clicky and locking out (although I find that too much effort)

I had it happen once with the pushy/twisty on my old 6p
It was in it's sheath on my duty belt, and not locked out, the belt was rolled ip and stuffed into my gear bag after work.

Something in the bag pushed the light into the holster and activated it, draining the batteries, melting the lexan lens and melting a hole in my jacket.

I still prefer the surefire pushy/twisty on my big "night time carry" lights, but make sure it's locked out before it is stored

I did have a fenix p1ce get pretty warm in my pocket after turning on
That was solved with a thicker oring, and it hasn't happened again (it's my backup edc and spare battery holder)

it could happen with any of my twisties (Quark Mini, LD15, L0D and E0), but never has since I always check by pushing the head in to make sure it won't happen. I can't afford it, since my LD15 is my last resort backup for work (I prefer 2 backups to carying batteries)

I always back my Aeon off enough so that it will not light from pressure against the head before it goes into my pocket. If it is left in a position so that a small turn will turn it on, it will also come on by simply mashing against the head.

the G2 has a twist-momentary cap that has not given me any trouble yet...

Don't you need some additional pressure to keep the circuit closed?

Sort of like the GUI where if you loosen the tailcap just a little you can still activate it with a push, but as soon as the force is removed the light turns off.

Is your O-ring worn? It should be tight enough to sufficiently resist twisting. I have never had a problem with any of my twist switches, as long as I back them out far enough to prevent problems

That's one reason I don't buy the argument, "A 2-cell light can give light for twice as long." Your light can be a 4xAA or 8xAA: If it turns on without your knowledge, your runtime drops to zero.

I now favor 1xAA lights. I carry 1 spare AA in my change purse. If my light depletes by accident, I can pop in the spare and I'm back in business.

It's not twisting on
Theres some slop in the threads, so I guess when I sit, it's pressing itself on. I was afraid to loosen it too much and have the head come off.

I keep it in this
