Two quick PT Impact Q\'s

Are these regulated? The spec sheet says 150 hour burn time, is this thing 4AA serial or two 2AA's run in parallel?

It's not regulated. It's direct drive with a resistor. 4AA in series.

BTW, the resistor is restrctive enough that driving the assembly in a PT20 body with 2 @ 3.6V AA Lithium cells generates a much dimmer beam than in the 4AA Impact.

Un resistored single Nichias are driven brightly by 2 @ 3.6V lithium AA's.

I bought a PT20 in response to suggestions that the Impact and PT20 heads could effectively be swapped. I was unsatisfied with the result.

The Impact and the PT40 have identical bodies and so can be swapped.

The PT 20 can use the Matrix LED module.
