I know that the TK40 is supposed to be able to run on 4 batteries. Recently, I had to borrow 4 batts from my TK40 for a camera, but my TK40 would not turn on with only 4 batteries :(

I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I have fully charged eneloops and have tried placing them in different bays, but still no go.

Any suggestions?

Quick searching turns up "Just load two of the four slots, making sure you choose two opposite directions in adjoining slots." If you load a pair of batteries pointing up, load another bay pointing down and you're good, supposedly. I don't own one though.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I've tried that and it does not work :(

Ah, sorry I can't help you much further. There's some chance it's disabled in the highest modes, but also this post will serve as a bump to let TK40 owners see it. Edit the first post, 'Advanced' edit, and change the title though. It says "TX 40" right now.

I believe the newer TK40 battery carriers have moulded 'nubs' in the plastic of the 2 relevant bays to indicate which of the four bays to use for a 4-up?
