radellaf - do you find any sig diff between the Magnum star and Krypton star bulbs?
After paying premium price for the Magnum (driven by 3C cells) I find the light from the Krypton to be much smoother and without the annoying magnified filament in the centre.

Just noticed my current line up all have different types of bulbs: Mag-num Star 4D, Ledcorp PS-3 luxeon, Krypton Star 2D, Garrity 4.8v Xenon, HPR50 Halogen in SEA-lite.

The Magnum star has a lens at the top of the bulb to "project" the light forward. Basically I think that's all.
