Just finished a spring break trip with my 14 yr old from PA to the FL keys and back to do some tarpon fishing and SCUBA. We drove and camped all the way. My son got a customized, rechargable U2 for Christmas thanks to grnamin (he did mine too) so we both had unlimited light to play around with at night. With the red filter we had a ball playing light tag with the 'possums in the SC state park we stayed at.
The best was fishing for monster tarpon out of Islamorada at 3:30 am as the tide changed. We were floating crabs and pinfish through Indian channel and using our lights to watch the big fish come up to roll for air. With the coating Greg put on our lights we never had to worry about salt spray and he had tuned our beams so we we could see a needle in a hay stack. Needless to say, we were able to see exactly where to drift our bait and we hooked some real moose. My son's largest tarpon was easily 140 and it took him 40 minutes to get to the boat (we always catch and release). My biggest went 140+ and jumped so much it only took me 20 min. Total was 8 fish all over 100 lbs. We caught one last monster once it got light and a pic is here:

Can't say enough about the durability and performance of the U2 especially after Greg customized them. They got soaked with rain and salt water and my son even took his snorkeling. I've been so tempted to get a Kroma for it's flexibility but with the sheaths John Willis made us the red beam filters fit fine and we get better illumination than the LEDs on the Kroma. Nothing is better for a serious outdoors man than a U2 that will take a 18650.
