I was wondering.... who around here does mods for the U2 with the LuxeonV?

I am interested in having my U2 modded to be brighter, and I hear that the U2me by milkyspit is pretty good at keeping most of the way it looks and works the same, just brighter. However I am open to other possibilities...

Also, for example, what would it cost for the U2me mod?
Ballpark figure is ok so maybe I can save up for this....

Sincerley,

Alan

I seen u2 being modded by Icarus I think with mc-e. It's pretty nice.
the quad u2 mod that milky does is very good and very bright but also pretty expensive. I don't know how much though

With regards to an emitter swap, it's important to know whether you have an older U2 (with the LuxV) or the newer U2 (with the SSC P4). The drivers in these two provide considerably different voltages to the emitter, the LuxV version is a perfect candidate for the Cree MC-E, while the newer (lower voltage) version would work with a number of new LEDs such as the XP-G, etc.

I don't know if this is helpful or now for what you're looking for though ...

Oh, don't worry. We used a whole 20 posts on that topic already :D (it's a LuxV)

OK, so a few duplicate replies are inevitable in a situation such as this. Why do we have a second thread on this again? ;)

Actually the other thread was to determine which U2 I have. This thread was to figure out who is currently modding them and which might be the best for me....

My mistake for not mentioning which version in the original post in this thread.
I'll see if I can edit the original post to reflect which version I have, which is the LuxeonV.

As noted before, the MC-E is a near-perfect upgrade for your light. I have a SF L2 LuxV -> MC-E mod in limbo at the moment, but if I can find the newest binning, I'll see about getting mine moving again. If you are able to source the newest MC-E bin for your light (either yourself or perhaps Milky or another modder), please post in the Cree MC-E N0 Bin thread.

(Check out this MC-E thread for more info as well)

Edit: The Cree MC-E N0 Bin thread is no more. :scowl:
However, if you are able to obtain that newest bin, please let us know.
