I just noticed Underwater Kinetics updated their eled line with new 4AA and 3AA (CPO) eled lights with either front or rear switches. They have upgraded emitters about 100-120 lumens (compared to the 4AA eled zoom of 75/35 lumens high/low).
The 3AA looks to be about $17 cheaper online also. I have seen prices of $33 plus shipping a few places. I don't know the runtimes on the lights because they have them messed up from 4-5 hours to 8 hours to 15 hours listed on UK's site wrong and other sites differently wrong. I remember when the UK 4AA eled was a go to light for folks even at ~40 lumens I wanted one. They have a special "graphite" color model of one light supposedly tougher I guess. I wish they would have two modes on these with a 20%/100% output it would be a great light. I don't think a dimmer mode would be a useful for this type of light IMO as you could carry a smaller one for dim light.

Here you go tempting me again. My old 4AA eLED still sees some use as my tool bag light. Tough buggers. I guess they've given up on the funky side-firing LED.

Thanks Lynx

I have a newer 4aa Zoom light at 77/33 lumens, very happy with it! I use AA lithium cells in it and always have it in my briefcase. Durablelovecpf little lite!

yup, that is me.. always coming up with interesting stuff to suck the money from your wallet ;) The thing I don't necessarily like about these lights (with reservations) it they now all seem to use optics of some sort. I would rather have reflectors I think as I have a taskforce 1AA with optics (it is broke now) that I swapped out the optics for a reflector and liked it better that way.

Hey Flying Turtle, I have that "old" original model as well and it too occasionally gets some use. The upgraded models have always tempted me but I ended up getting the eLED UPGRADED version of the SL4 4-C cell light around a year and half ago. I think its rated at around 119 lumens or something. It is pretty bright and throws very well. It should run a long time on some standad C cells.
