UK 4AA Rechargeable

Twice the output of the normal UK 4AA due to the introduction of a new 4 Watt lamp.

From another perspective, you now have 3 lamps (1 Watt regulated eLED, 2 Watt "normal" incand., 4 Watt "high ouptut" incand.) that will all work in the 4AA body, 4AA Rechargeable body, 4AA eLED body, Original AS2, AS2 Dive light, or the 2L body.

Yup, that means you can give your 2L or 4AA a boost by installing the separately available 4W lamp so the output is about the same as an E2e! Cool, eh?

Enjoy!

Thanks, Quickbeam, for that review. I was looking forward to read about it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

What's the deal with the permanently installed NiMH cells? Does it really look impossible to replace them? You can't carry some spare cells if you need to go for longer than 2 hours? You have to throw away the light when the included cells eventually crap out? I'd put that into your "things I don't like" section of the review.

I don't have one of these lights, but when I saw this, I assumed it had something to do with getting the light approved for one of the safety codes -- for use in hazardous environments, for example.

Thanks for the review Quickbeam.

I have a question from your review.
[ QUOTE ]
Beam Characteristics... Bright center with good surround - 1 gap on either side of surround

[/ QUOTE ]

Does the "gap" align with the "wide" axis of the flashlight or the "narrow" axis? Or, can it be moved depending on how the bulb is inserted?

I ask because I'm considering using this light for my bicycle and would like to maximize the "side throw" for being seen.

Thanks again.

By rotating the lamp assembly the "gap" moves - the gaps are made by the filament support pins blocking the light to the reflector - rotate the assembly and they rotate with the bulb.

Thanks. I'm glad to hear it's "user selectable". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
