I noticed on Lighthound's site that in addition to the WF-139 charger, there is an UltraFire charger for just 14500 and the AA lithium ion batteries. Lighthoud's stock number: UFCHGAAA.

Does anyone have any experience with this charger, and is it any better or worse than the WF-139a? Would there be any reason to get this one instead of the WF-139, if I'm only going to be charging 14500s? The price difference isn't an issue.

And I may bite the bullet and just splurge for a Pila 1BC, if only to increase the safety factor in charging these batteries, though I'd never leave either of these chargers unattended. But if this 14500 UltraFire charger has been well received and seems to work safely, is it worth a try?

I have the UFCHGAAA , it works OK ....... on UNprotected cells .........
But be aware - if you plan on using protected 14500's which are longer .......
Many are too LONG to fit in the UFCHGAAA
No adjustment can be made - it either fits - or it won't.

You'd be better off with the WF-139 or the pilla , because they can accept the longer cells with no problem.

I bought one just to charge 10440's because of the low charging rate. The Pila and the 139 has too high of a charging rate for those tiny cells. If you are going to be charging 14500's I would just go ahead and get the Pila. I have all three and the Pila is used to charge everything that I have (14500, 16340, 17670, 18500, 18650, 26500, 26550) except the 10440's.

The UFCHGAAA is fine for UNprotected 10440's , which is what I got mine for ........

Some 10440's are now being PROtected - which makes them longer also.

Mostly , the UFCHGAAA is only good for UNprotected 10440's and 14500's .

He's using 14500's ..... the UFCHGAAA has limited uses and is not flexible on cell size.
