I have an Ultra infinity, great little light; However, when I take out the battery it smells and has grey stuff all over it. I tried different batteries and it happens to all of them. Is it just from the alluminum of the body or what? Anyone else experience this?

Plow,

The grey stuff is most likely aluminum dust and the funny smell is the gas given off as the battery discharges. Not to worry, mine does the same thing.

It's a pretty simple and durable light isn't it? The runtime is great; I use mine every night to read by in bed.

I thought that might be the case. It is a great light, small but powerful enough for lots of tasks. I hae yet to run a battery down though.

My Ultra G is too bright to read in bed! Had to buy an original Infinity Tasklight--it's perfect for that (& w/40 hr. runtime---I'll be changing the battery about next summer!)

I love my Infinity Ultra. It's great being able to take a "dead" battery out of an incandescent light that won't even glow, and use that battery in the Ultra and get several hours of use out of it. Heck, I've taken batteries out of those dipsosable cameras and gotten many hours of use from them in my Ultra. If you use those disposable cameras, it's like getting free batteries for your Ultra. They didn't even care that I returned the film without the camera.

An elegant light for sure, but could be a little less thick. I own two, a tasklight and an ultra, and would be interested in more and in colors if they were hard anodized. Never bought the cc version.
