Ultrafire C2 Tri-Cree

Got it working. Fatman(set a default 700ma), customer heatsink, P4 Crees, and a Khatod tri-Cree optic. Works with 18650 and small spacer or two RC123as. Puts more forward than my Huntlight Tri. I'll have to wait till night to see what it can do. This is with the medium Khatod lens. Probably won't bother with the flood optic.

Sweeeet! This is what I was looking to do, but couldn't think of a way to make the heatsink/LED module without a custom machine shop. How are you holding the driver board to the heatsink and what are you using as a spacer? Oh, where did you get your Khatod optic and is there more info on the optics available on CPF somewhere?...I recall seeing a thread where a bunch of people were getting optics.

Driver board is Arctic Alumina Adhesively potted to the heatsink, that's it. Since it is viscous it just took patience to scoop and smear it between the two and turn it upside every minute to keep it in place till it hardened enough. Have to center it good though so the Fatman will fit in the barrel hole. Heatsink is approx. 32mm diameter 6.35mm thickness although another one or two mm in thickness would of helped and probably prevented the need for adhesive on the optic top that I did to get a snug fit for everything. I put some copper discs beneath the CREE cut down stars and Arctic Silvered them in place. So they are lifted enough so that I didn't mess with the optic's legs. I put glow epoxy on the backside of one of the flood optics and got this:

Should have done that with the top dots(edit: they peel off so I can beautify with a better idea sometime). Gives a nice useable low green glow in the dark. It cut down on output some though.

I have 2 each of the following optics on order too to see if I can get some throw also. They are taller so it might be snug with them in their natural state. I'll glowepoxy them together as there probably will be a few mm in between the three if my calculations are correct(and I won't be using the holders they come with.) I'll use either two 6 degree optics and one 25 degree or vice versa:

A caveat about this mod: it can get hot, it is juicing the 18650 a bit so it might be less safe than other torches I'd imagine. So, proceed at own risk.

Well done. I have the same type of optics for a tri lux build im working on.
