Curious to see how the ultrastinger compares in both wide and narrow focus to some of the surefires. Something I could reference against say a 9p (p90 or 91) or a 9N or even a M3.

Looked through the old posts It seems to me that for really reaching out and touching someone the ultrastinger throws a beam further than most of the surefires (however with less overall light than some). But for a long distance light it might be a nice addition to the stable. ALso if it adjusts to a nice smooth wider beam as well it could do double duty as a rechargeable.

Thanks

Todd

If you're going to compare the UltraStinger to a SureFire, please compare it to a SureFire with TurboHead.

Wouldn't flashlights with similar diameter Bezels be a better comparison?

Well, I'll give you that's it's a "unfair" comparison in that I'm not comparing to a turbohead but there really aren't any fair comparions with surefires. Since you could buy 3 ultrastingers for the same price as a C3/D3 and a turbohead converison. Probably 4 of them for the cost of a M3T and 5/6 of them for the cost of a 10x or a 9AN with a turbo kit. Then there's runtime, the smaller lights iwth a turbohead and high output beam only run 20 minutes (and cost $6 every 20 minutes to run, the stinger a hour, so that's not fair, and they are not close in size so that's not fair.

My comparison request is not meant to be a surefire slam, I own several and like them all. But it's easier for me to compare beams with a flashlight I own. I have no reference what a turbohead surefire looks like cause I don't own one.

But if someone wants to add a 9PT turbo with the high output bulb then that's fine too, but it gives me no reference that I can use so the comparison is useless unless it also includes a light I am familar with.

Besides I'm not purely interested in it's spot beam but also in it's wider beam settings. I'm curious of the brightness in comparison to a 9p with a p91 bulb in both it's tight spot and wider focus.

I would hope for the size the UltraStinger is, that it would beat the standard SureFires easily.

It is very likely that the UltraStinger will produce a far tighter, more intense beam then a P90/P91 & MN10/11, with it better suited to illuminate at longer ranges compared to the standard SureFires.
