Underwater HID light

Can someone point me to a place(s) to order all of the necessary parts to build an underwater HID light (for cave diving). I am having the hardest time locating the DC ballast and the light itself. It would also be great if i knew what to aviod from peoples past experiences.

They make configurable dive lights. Several HID options (most are self contained).

I was trying to get away from the prices of those, and get a little more satisfaction out of desigining/building it myself. i am having a hard time finding/pricing the HID bulbs and ballast assembly. I am interested in an 18W HID for cave diving. I dont think that it will be a problem building the battery casing. speaking of batteries, where are the bset prices/values for NiMh rechargables?
