Underwater video set - LED upgrade

I am going to upgrade my underwater halogen video lights "SunRay Classic" from Light and Motion with new battery and new led lights. For battery I have chosen a NiMH battery pack for airsoft 9.6 V 5000 mAh that fit perfectly inside the battery pods. For lights I will use a SST-90 Luminus led with TaskLed H6CC driver @ 6670 mA. I need a wide beam to take underwater video with no hot spot, do you think I can use the led without any lens (just the star board behind the front glass) or 1) I need a reflector to focus the light beam or 2) to sand the front glass to diffuse the light??
