I just received this light. It's bright! I'm no expert on finishes but this one looks a bit different than most of my others. I think most of my other lights have a matte finish and this one has more gloss to it. It looks like just a regular paint finish.
It actually came lubed in the head threads although dry in the tail threads. My other lights have used XR-E or MC-E emitters so this was my first XP-G.
I like it! The combination of being rechargeable 18650 and a wider more useful general purpose hotspot is quite nice.
It is the 5 mode model. As always, I could do without the 2 strobe modes.
Most of my light are for "just in case". They're not designed for long burn time but rather for a small form factor. This one I'll have no problem using as much as I want to.
I think I'm done with buying non-diving lights for a while. I have a AAA Ultrafire 602c keychain style light, an Akoray K-109 3 mode programmable CR123a, a AA ramping light with a good low end range in the Proton Pro and now a good general use XP-G 18650 light.
