I just got this one in and all I can say is WOW! It's XP-G R5 and it works surprisingly well with it's smooth and deep reflector. It by no means out throws the HS-802 but for medium to far distances this thing really puts out a hefty fairly tight beam, I'd compare it to an aspherical but with lots of flood and a smooth ring free corona around the well defined hotspot. At 12 feet the HS-802 hotspot is about 6" but the X8 is about 9" wide. Not bad especially given the shear amount of light this thing puts out, it definitely puts any DX aspherics to shame especially when overdriven. Stock mine will pull about 1.8 amps on a fresh 18650 a bit on the high side but the heat sinking is really good as it is not a p60 pill like the other XP-G lights. This is really a great light especially for the money.
