Hi folks...

A few days ago i simply asked if it was possible to get a very large flashlight lens (for my megamod of course)... and to my surprise i got the most amazing reply almost immediately, with questions on details of my requirements.

When i sent back the details, Chris from flashlightlens.com jumped on the opportunity and made me a 3.60inch diameter light with special 50% thicker glass.

I could not be more satisfied with the amazing customer service and i was stunned by the price, which though not 'cheap' was extremely reasonable... considering the lens has about 20x the area of a typical flashlight lens.

The best part... holy smoke is that glass clear... you literally can not see it if it sets on paper, etc.. I took a couple pictures to show off the difference, and it is dramatic...

The pictures show simply... how much light USED to be bounced back into the flashlight, and now how much is not.. (there is a cute bit of purple fringe in the small amount of light reflected back in)..

Anyhow.. didn't know exactly where to post this, but i figured in modified would be best, since it's when you do a mod you want it to be the best... far as i'm concerned... 'til you get a flashlightlens lens in... you aren't quite done.

I will post the pics soon as i get them out of the camera.

um, andrew
flahslightlens is one of CPF's sponsor, so most older cpfers should know chris. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Hoping that newbies like myself would find out and discover what i recently have... people deserve feedback when they treat you properly.

I agree with flashlight

andrew, the C&J is a better place to put your feedback /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
i think your post basically contains 2 parts. anyhow, yep, i agree. Chris is a great guy to deal with /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'll concur with this misplaced cheer for Flashlight Lens /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ordered several different lenses, which arrived rapidly and far exceeded my expectations. he also offered to cut me a custom sized one for My ArcLS (which i haven't done yet as I haven't been able to get it apart yet!)

Anybody ordering from him will not be disappointed. The lenses are high quality and make an actual noticeable difference in beam brightness and quality over the plastic ones.

Any EDC should have a good lens on it!

Pictures as Promised

Here is a link to the lens pictures

note: on the webpage... you will notice a 'crack' in the 'before' lens. the original lens was cemented in so i had to break it out, so the 'before' pictures have a pieced together lens, but the crack is not directly inline with any of the three emitters.

Unretouched beamshot 'after'

(I had to figure out a rationale for putting the latest beamshot of megamod online... it's so beautiful i have to share).
