Very nice. I have a quick question though... According to Kj's graphs , there are 17 levels INCLUDING Boost which is actually a higher output than Level 1. Is this true, or am I reading it wrong? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif And I wonder what the runtime would be if you constantly held down the boost button??

I don't lie /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I saw this behavior in my Arc4+, but I don't know if this is normal.

As I wrote in my page, Arc stated level 1 is boost. However, in my testing of Arc4+, I found pressing down the button slightly increased the brightness even from the level 1. So I put the lux reading on that "pressing the button" state as boost.

I don't see this behavior on my Arc4x.

16 or 17 level?
i haven't a clue. i'm confused enough just trying to use what i can find...

There DEFINITELY are 16 levels on my Arc4+, and level 1 is the "boost." Not 17 levels.

16 levels on my 4+ as well. Level 1 is the brightest, same as boost level. Level 16 is the dimmest.

Wow, 10+ DAYS at Level 16. Which I've found is even a bit bright for "going around the house at night in the dark" or "checking on the kids in bed at night". I usually bounce the light beam off of the ceiling when I do the kid check. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

And I still have Level 1 whenever I want lots more light.

All in all, a pretty cool EDC light, just like Peter said.

Thanks for the run time estimate chart.

I understand that there are not 17 levels...but what I'm wondering is, is Boost the same as, or brighter than Level 1?

As I wrote in another thread, that 40 lux difference cannot be detected by human eyes. So basically, you don't need to care about this unless you are going to do measurements /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Gotcha! Just out of curiosity, I wonder what the percent change in lux would have to be for the human eye to detect... I've heard that in a car, you have to have a 10% horsepower gain before you'll notice a difference while driving.

Mmmm...food for thought /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

This is why I love this light: 10 days on level 16, which is a great light level for finding stuff in the dark. And 12 hours on level 7, which is quite bright. And you still have level 1 in ready reserve. This works for me.
