Ive been getting really into this whole flashlight deal and just purchased a M1X, thinking how great it was. Two days later I see this new product solarforce has come out with called the Masterpeice.... wow this thing looks amazing with 1000lms and it hella bright in some of the pics ive seen. Im curous to why I dont hear more on solarforce products when they look to put out alot of light. Are these lights not dependable or junk cause they are made in Hong Kong so ya wats ur input?

I would also be interested to see some feedback with respect to Solarforce.

This is one brand I haven't actually heard of and I just took a look at their product lineup and I must say I'm quite fond of their design. Some of it looks a little bit SureFire-ish, but heck, still some very nice looking stuff!

I just got my first L2 and really like it. Great light for the price, about $40. There are lots of options. I'm considering a L2M as well.

Yeah their prices seem really darn good. Will likely get the 950 and see how that one turns out to be. Looks better than the Masterpiece IMO.

They're not junk and are dependable as far as I know. Best light for the money and damn versatile too. Takes in all P60 style drop-ins and can be set for many battery configurations. Soldiers use them for their tours, like Dhart's son.

I guess you don't hear more on Solarforce is probably because they are consolidated in this thread..

Good to know :)

I guess I'm just a little too "used" to SureFire's price-tags by now, but after some of my purchases lately I think this is some much needed fresh air.

Even if the rated output is bulb lumens and not OTF lumens, 66% of 950 lumens is still well over 630 lumens and that is brighter than any other light I have if I do not count my HellFighter in.

As mentioned earlier, I quite like the design too, and so from what I can see online build quality isn't too bad either. Lets see how this one turns out to be!

I mostly agree with you, but I would call then "good value for the money"

But the Stainless Steel version is much better than that (and much more heavy to lug around):
