US18650GR Availability

I am trying to find a few US18650GR lithium cells to rebuild a Sony computer pack. I think they are simply reffered to as 18650's. Soldering tabs attached would be great, if not I can get them attached locally. Anyone know of a source for these? I would like to buy them new in OEM packaging if possible. I know E-bay has them but, that would be my last alternative. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif

Within two hours of placing my order with this company I received FEDEX confirmation and shipping number 640099014090 shipping straight from Malaysia via Fedex Priority Pak!! I don't get it, if this package weighs 1 pound the shipping cost is $112.00. My shipping charge was $12.00. For a country like Malaysia, the service is awesome. I've never had an issue with Fedex. Half way over world, less than 36hours.

That's great to hear. I looked at the shipping charge with a lot more scrutiny and discovered an error. I was calculating the cost from Malaysia to Warren, MI. It was giving me the cost in "Ringgits" when translated to USD was about $23.00. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Got my batteries this morning about 9:30. I ordered late Monday night, had my order Thursday morning. From Malaysia to Michigan in 2 1/2 days. Will wonders never cease. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink2.gif

I hope is not too late to post. Most battery packs(Li-ion) have some electronics built in, microprocessors, memory etc. Some, if you disconnect the electronics from the the battery they lose their data in the memory. So keep it connected to a power source to retain it's memory while you swap the batteries. I am not sure if this is true but I read it from somewhere about rebuilding battery packs.
