Using 5-56 or teflonbased spray as lube?

I'm about to lube some lights and the only things I have available atm is 5-56 and and a teflonbased spray(intended to use on fishing reels). I'm just curious about which one would be best to be used on flashlight threads, and are there any particular reason to not use them?

I would avoid a Teflon containing lubricant, unless you know that the threaded connection is not required to complete an electrical circuit. The solid particles of polymer might cause the resistance to dim your light. Use a gel or liquid. The threads will displace a liquid film, but may not do so if it has solid content. I know nothing about 5-56...

Good point there about the teflon particles, thanks for pointing that out.

After some googling I realised that 5-56 is somewhat equal to WD-40.

There are a gadzillion posts on lube, and they're all pretty much boiling down to the same thing... And spray stuff is never the conclusion.
