I already shorted my light twice /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif and I read a few post using the search function. They were a little confusing.
Can someone offer a 1st grade level walk thru on how I find the current (?ma) of my kl4 circuit? I put another resistor to boost it and I'd like to know if it worked. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

In series, not parallel, with the circuit....

Voltage you measure in parallel, current in series.

Measuring mains current in parallel usually results in a blue flash and a melted meter, er, so someone told me ;-)

Make sure your probes are plugged into the correct sockets on your meter, some use different socket for some ranges.

Put your meter on the highest current range to start with, you just never know, easiset to start high and work down.

Do not put batterys in light.

Tape a piece of wire from the - of the battery to where it would connect in the light if it was in it.

Connect one probe, red lead, to the + of the battery.

Connect other probe , black lead to where the + of the battery would go in the light.

Thats it.

If connected properley the light should light and the reading on your meter should be the current it is taking from the battery.

Thank you.....well it is only reading 600ma, I must of un-boosted it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif. The stock circuit is 660ma isn't it?
