I was just told about this eBay auction where a slightly used SandY 590 went for US$308!

I guess I need to respect mine more if they are selling at over $500 an ounce. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Yes, they are discontinued, there won't be any more of them. Yes, they are a decent watch. Yes they are genuine mil spec, mil issue. BUT they are still a cheap reinforced-plastic cased watch with a mineral-glass crystal and a high-quality but common Swiss movement. Cost new was under $65. ( Reference Image )

Looks like it was just 2 people who got in a bidding war after $78. Still $308 is pretty amazing for that watch. One of the people in the war has 0 feedback and was registered the day the auction started. Looks suspicious to me.
