V71 speed holster

I went to the website and found the item mentioned, but there's not any larger images to get a closer look, not at least with my browser and I'm using Firefox 3.0 Bummer.

My M3 has the SW02 switch and was wondering if anyone knows whether or not it will work with the Surefire V71 speed holster seen here?

I use the V71 with an M3 (or sometimes M3T although bulky) on my duty belt. The V71 will not work with any of the SW series tailcaps or any of the tailcaps with the rubber shrouds.

The only gripe I have about the V71 is that it was hard as @#% to get out of the holster the first couple of days. It's still a bit stiff, but it's loosened up enough that I'm able to get it out quickly. At least I know I'm not going to lose my light going over a fence or during a scuffle with a bad guy!

I've used the SF speed holsters on duty for several years now and I personally love them.

Is the SW02 a clicky? or momentary only?

Also you might want to look at the Black Hawk Night Ops Mod-u-lock holster. I dont have a SW series tailcap but my M3T fits tail cap down just fine. I know it would work with rubber shroud tailcaps and I think there is enough room for the SW02. maybe not the SW01.

I don't really like the V70/71/72 holsters, but what bothers me about the speed holster is that they are the only holster that SF makes for certain lights. I like to have more options. And I like my holsters to cover my entire lights. I carry my A2 face down in a nylon pouch at work and that's speedy enough for me and protects the light better at the same time.

If I carried my light on the side of my body where my arm hangs, or further up toward the front of my body, I would actually prefer to carry my light bezel down so I can draw it straight out without adjusting my grip. But I carry it further back on my back left hip so when I reach back to draw it out I don't have to adjust. I carry a 6P + V70 on my front right, just in front of my pistol holster as a backup, and as a light that I can get to with my right hand if necessary. I personally don't want anything with a flap, since I work nights and want to get to my lights quickly without fumbling around with a flap. It all just depends on your personal preference.

Yep, that's why I like to have options. I used to prefer to carry my Surefire's bezel up, because the holster could be more compact, but I got a different non-Surefire nylon holster than is nearly as compact and I'm able to carry bezel down with it as well. I discovered I preferred this because it kept dust and lint off the lens and protected the head better, plus I didn't have to always adjust my grip.

My A2 is basically a back-up light anyways, I usually use one of the Streamlight Stinger XT's we have in the office. It rides in my back pocket when not in use.
