Is this a real Vanson Speedy Box BC1HU offered by Harbor Freight?

It looks identical to the two I have (from Amondotech). IIRC, Vanson made a change regarding the reset button which did not affect the looks, just some aspects of the performance. Unfortunately I don't recall the details. At any rate, even if these are the older model, $19.95 isn't a bad price, depending on shipping. You might want to check Amondotech & compare.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking. It's still a better charger than the ones I got at Christmas. Since I had some other stuff I wanted, I added one when I ordered so shipping wasn't that big of a deal. Amondotech is selling the BC1HU for $24.95. I think I remember somewhere that Empath said they were the same too.

Anyway, for $20.00 if it's the real deal that'll be coolio.

This housing is manufactured in China and sold to a number of different 'charger' manufacturers. Vanson is one, and Accupower is another. What is inside could , and probably does, vary allot.

I remember another thread where a representative from accupower said that housing is the same on the accupower and the vanson, but they were different internally.

I stopped by my local Harbor Freight to see if they were selling these. They had them there for $29.99, so I didn't pick one up. Looking at the box, I didn't see any brand name on the box or the unit itself, so I guess this is an imitation?

I was kind of hoping this thread was correct, that it was actually a Vanson.
